On the July 27th, at night fall, the Full Moon will rise eclipsed by the Earth’s shadow, which will make its observation a true challenge! However Mars, which on this night reaches opposition, will help us find the Moon as it rises in a direction close to the Moon at about the same time.

OLA offers a special thematic session in this Total Moon Eclipse night. Besides these objects, we will also have Saturn to observe and the Milky Way clearly visible during the total phase of the eclipse. This is the full program of this special session:

18h30 The Universe from the European Southern Observatory – Dr Hugo Messias
19:30 Presentation: Eclipses and Moon photography
20:30 Start of the total phase of the eclipse
20:40 Observation of the moon rise
21:20 Maximum of the eclipse
21:30 Start of the stargazing session
23:19 End of the partial eclipse
00:28 End of the penumbral phase

Prices:
