The Orionids are produced by fragments of one of the most famous comets in history, Comet 1P/Halley.
- Time interval: 2nd of October to 7th of November
- Peak Intensity [PI]: 20 – 21 of October
- Lunar State during PI: 37% Full
- Incidence Rate during [PI]: 10-20 events/hour
Given the presence of the Moon in the sky during the days of greatest intensity, the best time to observe the fragments of Halley’s Comet is on October 25th and 26th.
